How
To Set A Romantic Mood With Feng Shui
By Joy Abrams MA, FSII
Romance
is all about your feeling close with someone as well as bringing
your chi energy to merge with a significant other in a harmonious
way. Having mutual understanding and empathy as well as feelings
of excitement for another person encourages the process.
On one
level having the proper setting can encourage you to think
more romantically. It is especially helpful to also visualize
yourself being in an intimate loving situation with the person
you care for.
At the
same time the deeper feelings that you have for one another
can give the situation a powerful charge of energy.
According
to the principles of Feng Shui the colors of pink and red
are deeply associated with romance as well as evoking romantic
feeling between two people. The color pink is associated with
pleasure so using this color brings out your playfulness and
feelings of romance.
These
colors make a sensual background for romance.
Be sure to add touches of red or pink in the form of reds
or pinks in; in napkins candles flowers and other decorative
details. Choose red or pink roses as they create the best
chi energy especially if you are choosing to have a romantic
meal. A slender vase with long stemmed red roses embodies
the mood for romance.
Also using the materials of silk and brocades provides the
best chi energy for romance. Using soft fabrics sets the surroundings
for kindness and understanding.
Use soft lighting in your space to create a romantic atmosphere.
Don't use direct lighting and glaring bulbs. Try using up
lighters which can be reflected off a wall or ceiling. Use
candles for a more intimate atmosphere.
Decorate your space with pairs of things. For example you
can have two candles, or ornaments in pairs. Even matching
up two plants or finding a special sculpture that represents
two people is helpful in evoking the romantic background that
helps to stimulate the loving energy that you wish to provide
for your space.
In choosing your seating plan choose the way that you face
based on the chi energy that you hope to invoke. For example,
facing west is the direction of the setting sun. This exposes
you to chi energy associated with the sunset and the pleasures
of life. If you tend to be serious you can promote playfulness
by facing west. Face north to align yourself with the chi
energy of the night. North is an ideal way to face if you
tend to be overpowering. Facing South is exposing you to the
chi energy that is associated with passion and deep feeling.
If you have difficulty with self-expression that is the ideal
area to face.
Finally don't expect instant results. Remember that Feng Shui
is a journey. It shows you how to open the pathways of positive
energy in your life and gradually introduce changes that will
harmonize your life. Give yourself and your significant other
time and energy to find your own level of harmony and romance
and let the magic begin.
